On Saturday August 12th, Luther college Anthropology Lab Director Chad Landsman will be giving Atlatl
demonstrations at Effigy Mounds, as part of the Humanities Iowa's Teacher's Workshop Series 2006. Participants will have a chance
to have throw in an International Standards of Accuracy (ISAC) event and have their scores listed in the
World Atlatl Association's records. Participants who register also receive admission to
the workshops and events listed below.
Effigy Mounds National Monument, located along the Mississippi River in extreme northeast Iowa, was established in 1949 in order ot preserve
prehistoric burial and ceremonial mounds built by Woodland Indians between 2500 and 750 years ago.
